4 years ago I wrote a little tutorial about creating a very simple game using vector files and AS3.

 It's old and I wouldn't do it the same way today like I did it back then, but it might help.  An other great resource for learning AS3 would be

For now let me just tell you that you need to download the AS file that you want from WonderFL and remove any excess stuff (like the Stats).  Then you need to make sure you have all the proper import libraries.  If it starts with flash.whatever then chances are you already have it (unless someone really screwed up their package structure).  Next you have to create an empty MovieClip in your library and attach your AS class file to it in it's properties panel.

That you for your advice.

 It has helped me to slowly unravel the whole question of classes and packages in AS3 and then go on to object orientated programming. You can see my progress so far at sembiotics.com. Early days :)
